The Wumingu Technical and Vocational College (WTVC) is a public tertiary institution started by the Government of Kenya (GoK) through the Ministry of Education, State Department of TVET in 2017. The institution is dully registered by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA). It is situated on top of a hill, in a serene and scenic part of Wundanyi constituency, Taita Taveta county. It is located 10km North of Wundanyi town. Wumingu TVC is at 282km from Nairobi city and 166km from Mombasa city.

The college has workshops and laboratory well equipped with modern facilities in Mechatronics and in ICT programs respectively. The college is a Centre of Excellency in Mechatronics where modern state of art equipment was acquired and installed through Kenya/China governments collaboration. It’s one of the 14 institutions in Kenya equipped with mechatronic Equipment.

In line with the directive by the Ministry of Education (MOE) directive dated September 2023, the college shifted from the traditional programs examined by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) to Competency Based Education and Training (CBET) programs assessed and certified by Technical and Vocational Educational and Training, Curriculum Development, Assessment and Certification Council (TVET CDACC).

Being a public institution, Wumingu TVC gets its manpower personnel from the Public Service Commission through the Ministry of Education, State Department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training.

The college management is working closely with stake holders and its leadership such as the county government, NG-CDF and Ward representative in order to achieve its aspirations. We are committed to provide excellence in training to fully equip the 21st century learners with competencies for the job market and for self-reliance. The college aims at providing quality technical and vocational education and training to meet the changing demands of the society.
