The Wumingu Technical and Vocational College (WTVC) is a public tertiary institution started by the Government of Kenya (GoK) through the Ministry of Education, State Department of TVET in 2017. The institution is dully registered by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA). It is situated on top of a hill, in a serene and scenic part of Wundanyi constituency, Taita Taveta county. It is located 10km North of Wundanyi town. Wumingu TVC is at 282km from Nairobi city and 166km from Mombasa city.
The college has workshops and laboratory well equipped with modern facilities in Mechatronics and in ICT programs respectively. Its one of the 14 institutions in Kenya equipped in mechatronics.
Currently the college runs Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) and Competence Based Training (CBT) programs. CBT programs are assessed and certified by TVET CDACC body. The college is a Centre of Excellency in Mechatronics where modern state of art equipment was acquired and installed through Kenya/China governments collaboration.
Being a public institution, Wumingu TVC gets its manpower personnel from the Public Service Commission through the Ministry of Education, State Department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training.
The college management is working closely with stake holders and its leadership such as the county government, NG-CDF and Ward representative in order to achieve its aspirations.
